Edit after reading long above posts: Any connection inside a battery box is subject to corrosion, we can't keep that from happening, only one way to do that...We always use negative for disconnect so if the machine has to be started by someone not in the chain of command, he can go to a ground and not worry about grounding out the positive wire...Both taken care of by Von, above, in first informative post.
9/16 wrench usually fits the disconnect posts, 5/8 if metic...I try to keep that in machine toolbox...Can take off one nut, move cable to the other post, put on the saved nut, and off we go without the key we forgot...No worry about sparks...Yes happened to me more than many times.
