Get ready to cry. I had hair longer and thicker then yours and I had two young kids and I thought it was too much of a pain to wash and dry it, so thought I would have it cut. I should have just went shorter like mid back, instead I went shorter then my shoulders and had it layered to boot. I had no clue how to do it. Still don't and that was 38 years ago.
