I have a little probe that mounts on the threads of a 3/8 rod. When you push it down it is closed, then when you pull it back it opens. It would be easy to sample 3 or 4 ft depth. It is small so it takes about 5 tries to get enough for a moisture test. I think I got it for a seed corn give away, don't have any idea who makes it.
