South-Western Ohio

Hey Ed,the only rain I missed was the rains this summer like in June,July and most of August. What really stinks is the double whammy is the drought ruined our yields, and now it's too damm wet to get the crappy crop out of the field.Even good gravel based laneways are turning to slop.

I hate to say this, but we were due for a wet muddy fall.We have went  several years with fairly dry harvests and little if any ruts. But this year is like what i remember as a young-in.Spend all winter plowing whenever it was froze enough or not froze to hard filling in tracks and ruts.Spent many nights running all night till  maybe noon when it would get greasy.Go home to bed and back out a couple hours or so after sundown when it would freeze back up.Looks like one of those winters this year.
