Subject: Keep it out of UV or topcoat it

Too close to Raleigh, NC
And, unless you want to wear it for awhile, don't get it on you. And wear a respirator if spraying it.

There are several frames under cars that my brothers and I painted close to 20 years ago now, right after POR-15 first came out, that still look good. We have painted it over stuff that has been chemically dipped and over stuff that just got the crud knocked off of it, both with good results. Depending on which paint you get it can be UV resistant or it will need to be topcoated to keep it from eventually breaking down. Be prepared to cuss if you ever decide it needs to come off as it sticks to whatever it is on very well - sand/bead blasting is about the only way to remove it once it is cured, and it cures quick. A lesson in futility is all you will get if you go after it with a DA and 80 grit.

PM Industries also makes a good rust-encapsulating paint that we have used interchangeably with POR-15 with good results. Due to its high solid content it is not the best thing to use under the pretty side of the metal but you can cover it with an epoxy primer then block sand it to get it as smooth as the posterior in Rich's thong.
