I was bucking bales in the '80s. We didn't have such fancy gadgets. We loaded right off the baler if it were just me or me+1. We didn't load off the baler much because dad said it was too dangerous. Generally, we let the baler get a head start and pick up 2-4 rows off the ground at a time but we needed at least 4 to do that. Bales were generally in the barn or shedded on wheels by the end of the day.
