Don't hold your breath on wheat making any money. We plant it here to double crop beans after mostly to keep us from planting beans too early. The wheat makes money maybe one or two years out of five - pretty much trading dollars on average. At least that is what our farm management people have been showing us the numbers for as long as I can remember. Every once in a while the wheat and double crop beans has the perfect year and makes a killing so it keeps us planting it the other 4 years when it is a waste of time.
