| The stuff that comes in cans is from special varieties, like Buckskin, that realy dont look much like a regular pumpkin. They are more like a big gourd and have a thicker harder rind so that they can be machine harvested.
I used to grow pumpkins for sale and certain varieties, like baby pam and those that were 5 -6 lbs seemed the best suited, both in size and taste.
