NW Tennessee | Unless things change between now and planting time, our bean acres will be up again and corn and cotton acres down some. With our crop share leases, it will take approx. 150 bpa of corn to break even. We can't depend on 150 bpa dryland corn "here" on our ground. Cotton inputs have gotten so high, like everything else, but with the yields we've been getting, we may reduce our acres some, but still plan to have some. We can raise 1,000 lb cotton easier and more consistently than 150 bpa corn. Our bean acres will probably be up somewhere between 15-20%. | |
