| We have been putting fertilizer on in the fall since the '50s. Use to only use DAP on cornstalks that were going back to corn or alfalfa / clover to help decompose the plant matter matter faster. I have never heard anyone discuss the loss of the N but then we have some fairly cold winters here & ground is usually froze from mid Dec to early March.
Seems the last 5 years or so the straight phosphate (0-46-0) isn't even available | |
