Subject: RE: Best Bean for the South?

NW Tennessee
We've never planted any bean that yields on our marginal ground like Pioneer 94B73. They are really easy to cut and mature more like a 4.3. Also yield well on good ground. Our best bean in `06 and `07 was Asgrow 3906 which actually matures like an early Group IV. It did really well again this year for us, but I think our        NK 39A3 was a little better in `08. Progeny 4804 has done pretty good for us and we had some good Asgrow 5068's behind wheat. Then again, we had 110 acres of Hutcheson planted on July 12 & 15 that yielded 38 bpa.
