You'll have to pardon the format, I'm working on a old computer that won't let me do much as far as editting. This was k-impact, is that the same as power plus? This started out as a Pioneer PKP/ X-tra power plot and the k-impact was added as an after thought on 2 varieties. The x-tra power and zinc were appplied in furrow, the k-imact was injected when corn was approx 18". Plot was no-tilled in an alfalfa field which had been killed in fall of '07. Applied 5000 gal/acre of hog manure early spring. Dropped 32,000 seeds. Results listed in order of planting. P33A88 w/ 1 qt. x-tra power, 1 qt. zinc, 1 gallon k-impact- 225 bu.-22.6% (this was outside edge of field, normally i wouldn't include that in a plot but this was right beside another corn strip so I used it. It doesn't seem in line with the rest of the plot.)) P33A88 (plain)- 252 bu.- 23.4%, P33T57 (plain)-248 bu.-23%, P33T57 w/1 qt. x-tra power, 1qt. zinc, 1 gallon k-impact- 262 bu.-23%, P33N58 w/x-tra power & zinc-267 bu.-22.7%, P33N58 (plain)- 269 bu.- 22.8%, P33W84 w/x-tra power & zinc- 241 bu.- 22.3%, Hubner 5811 w/x-tra power &zinc- 261 bu.- 22.8%, Hubner 5582 w/ x-tra power & zinc- 247 bu. - 21.1%, P33A88 w/ x-tra power & zinc- 261 bu. 22.7%, P33A88 w/ 5 gal 7-21-7 & zinc- 258.6 bu.- 23%, P33A88 (plain)- 259.7 bu.- 23.2%, P33A88 w/ 100 lbs of a 2/3 urea -1/3 AMS mix- 263.1 bu. 23.3% This is the first year for me using any in furrow products. I used some of the x-tra power and some of the 7-21-7. (The 7-21-7 did even less for me in another side by side than it did here.) I'll probably try some again next year since I have the setup, but this year it was sure a waste of money. As for the K-impact, it would seem as though the k-impact/ x-tra power combo got me 14 bu. on the 33T57. I did some side by sides at a neighbors as well. I don't have those results in front of me, but the k-impact did not look real favorable there. The stuff cost $35/acre for the product plus application. It needs to be inected at side dress time. So 14 bu. @ $4/bu. isn't worth it.
