Try this... google "map of cropping areas in USA" ... it took a couple tries of different word combinations. I had another map showing sugarbeets, sugarcane, and different vegetable classes but only a paper copy and no way to scan it.

The University of Iowa (Iowa City) has some excellent GIS and cartography maps but I can't access them for some reason (grrr)
Also google EROS Data Center (Sioux Falls, SD) for world wide cartography greenness mapping. Sometimes I can get live sat.feeds from there.
