Mississippi Delta | I have a hard enough time getting one rice crop in and out, couldn't imagine two! Everybody needs to harvest a rice crop in the mud. I got lucky this year, and it all came out without making a mess. When do you guys start planting rice down there? We usually start here the tail end of march or first of april, with harvest starting in august, until who knows when. Our yields up here were off a pretty good bit, hoping the price will come on back up so we can recoup some of this high dollar fertilizer and fuel money we had to spend this year. | |
