NEIN | Notill takes more management and skill than tillage does, plain and simple. It also requires a different attitude towards soil and soil life, especially long term soil health. Tillage masks problems with drainage and compaction and allows a guy to farm without much risk, short term anyway. If your land is flat I guess you can have at it, but if it rolls much there is really no excuse for full tillage year after year with the technology we now have. | |
