Subject: RE: forage sorgrum

I plant sorghum/sudan after forage barley, it works well, I chop it for silage and treat it exactly as corn silage, never had issues with it. Its fed as part of the ration to heifers, dry cows and milk cows (in varing amounts) . Never tried baling it, but as chopped silage its replaced corn silage on my operation.
My advice, have it tested and get advice from your nutritionist on how to get it into the ration without problems.
