| That is interesting. In our location we can pretty much plan on a 25+ bushel advantage to corn planted after wheat. We don't bale straw and we frost clover so maybe that helps. They are usually also the last fields we plant because they stay wet, though. We try a lot of different things to try to solve that problem. Last year we ripped it with no-till shanks, then disked it in the fall. Spring worked 2X and planted. Year before we ripped with the non no-till shanks and left it.
I think like someone else said, it might be from baling the straw. Neighbor did an experiment one year, baled 1/2 the straw off a field. The half that still had straw made 35 bushels over the other. He doesn't bale straw anymore.
