I am taking mine with a grain of salt Phillip but I had enough moisture in the sample I am not really concerned. It will vary over years of sampling but better than just throwing fertilizer out there or doing nothing.
My continuous notill soils probed right to the step, others you had to pound the probe in.
Soil test in extremely dry soils?
