Southeast Colorado | We just turned in our acres to the local FSA office and the county committee came up with an area wide yield somehow. I'm not sure what they used to base it off of but it did change from year to year. You had to have proof or be subject to an audit that the bales were actually there but they never cared about the actual quantity. Keep in mind though that we haven't had prices low enough to collect an ldp for a couple of years now so I don't remember all of the details. The important part is to have the correct seed planted. FSA has the approved list in hand at the office. Every area of the country has a different list since the growing days may be longer or shorter in your spot and you theoretically have to plant a crop that is capable of being harvested for grain. | |
