| Great suggestion, why didn't the rest of us think of that.
Used to run a small registered sheep flock here and had a tech come in and ultrasound. She'd call multiples and could measure fetus length and give me preg date. I could sort by singles, twins, trips and feed accordingly. I'd also have an estimated due date and could move to drop pens without checking bags etc.
I'd guess that the equipment is not owned by a lot of large animal vets, but you could have an area tech come in and do it while they are in the chute for another reason. Cost was somewhere around $3-5/hd plus mileage from her last job. | |
