| If I read you right, you shouldn't have any shrink to worry about. If they are pre-weaned 30+ days then hauled to commision yards the day before. They should have put them on feed for you, and first come, first thru the sale ring unless you are there to hold them back a hour or two as the sale progresses thru the day. But if you are weaning the first day, and sitting overnite till sale day you are taking a real thumping. Don't do it. If you have to sell calves off the cows on sale day, have cows and calves penned and fed, sort and load the sale day, then run to town, pre-inform sale owners you are coming so as when trucks come in they don't put your calves on the back burner that day. | |
