| Wish there were some of the local long time cattle guys on this site for you. I have heard some of the elderly gents talk about feeding ammoniated straw with molasses. As I remember, in the fall the straw is injected with some amount of NH3 and molasses mixed. Later in the winter it is fed and the cows seem to hold their own through the winter. Sorry I can't give you any specifics, maybe this will ring a bell with someone. | |
