Last time I went to buy some of the nylon wrap I got talked into the plastic spiral wrap. Where there is constant rubbing, I've seen the hose wear enough to leak underneath the nylon, but the wrap looked good. I have only used the spiral a couple times, but it seems to rub forever without damaging the hose underneath.
