I would suggest you maybe start with 20 head the first year as a learning exercise/experiment rather than 300. Lot's of other issues may come up and its cheaper to learn on 10 or 20 head rather than a full barn. Personally I think pasture or even grazing harvested corn stalks, etc. would be better than having them inside a building all winter. Either way, start small. jmho.
