My experience is with dairy. We have had early frosts, when you get the low test weight from immaturity taking it as high-moisture is about the best way to get the most out of it. A bag is a very good way to store it. If it is waay too wet, snaplage would probably be a better opton if you can get set up in time. Otherwise you could just chop it real high, just below the cob and get silage that is fairly close to snaplage. No matter what, when you get done take a feed test so you know what you have. It will probably have a lower NEL and starch level than what you might think, you'll have to take that into account when feeding(and buying). |
