Subject: Calf dehorning

Southwest Oklahoma
One of the last bunch of calves that we bought must have had some longhorn heritage. Its horns were four to five inches long at about three hundred fifty pounds. Took them off with a set of spoons, no problem, but they were hollow and there are now cavities on both sides of his head. Is there some common treatment for this? Any help will be apprciated.
