| I'm not sure if there will be any crop insurance money left after every farmer in the Western 1/3 of ND collected $100-$300 per acre for wheat insurance. It's hard to imagine that guys are getting stuck on the Eastern side of the state and we are happy that the top foot of dirt here is a bit moist and not bone dry. We have no moisture below 1' depth, until you hit the Bakken shale at 10,000', but that's just oil, and crops can't survive on that. I do have fond memories of cutting ruts while harvesting flowers in 1986 and 1998. | |
