Subject: RE: basis/canopy spraying now

I've been using the program for 3 years now for no-till corn following soybeans. 0.33oz Basis, 0.125oz Express, 1pt 2,4-D & 1gal/100gal COC. I've been satisfied with the program "here". The first year Dupont was offering a guarantee that your field would be clean at planting or they would provide glyphosate. I have no idea if they still offer the guarantee.

I just sprayed my soybean stuble on Thursday - we've had several frosts, but the ground isn't frozen.

My weed control typically lasts until mid May to early June (depending on how early/warm spring is). My post program is usually glyphosate tank mixed with Calisto or dicamba.

I haven't noticed any problems with the chemicals not working due to residue.

I've found that using 2,4-D in the fall on the dandelions is the most effective way to control them. I also believe it's important to have early weed control with no-till corn. By putting the Basis/Express in with the 2,4-D in the fall, I'm saving a burndown or pre-emerge application in the spring.
