Boyd, WI | I own a small batch dryer, but have had a lot of experience running bigger systems (2000 to 4000 bph). I like the simplicity and fairly good setup of the Farm Fans. Airstreams are really nice (pricey) and the best I believe is a mix-flow vertical type without screens. I've never personally ran one, but have researched enough to know that it'll get you the highest quality grain especially if you use it with an in-bin cooling system.
Where I currently help a buddy of mine, we run a CMS1500 Farm Fans and cool grain in the bin. I crunched all the numbers and we save about 33% on LP and 40% on time when we cool in bin vs in dryer, not to mention the much higher grain quality. That'll make you a lot more money than a fancy system that's got loads of efficiency claims.
All this I tell you as my opinion only. I know there's arguments all over as to what is the best system. This is what I know works for me! | |
