Subject: Re: Dekalb Corn Pricing

Iowa
I sell DK, and this year it doesn't matter what brand of corn it it, it has all been tested to the limits around here. With the 50 inches of rain we have had throughout this growing season stalk rot, crown rot, and anthracnose are all taking there toll on every field around here, even Headline and Stratego fields showing it bad. Just too much moisture all season long. I will say DK is still performing well in places but i have also seen the bulletproof 63-42 develop stalk rot bad and die early. Same field 50-100 bushel off last year in places. Top of tile lines running 235 bpa, running between tile lines can get as low as 67 bpa. Just too much water this year and too much variability throughout these fields to be able to really evaluate hybrids well enough to get any good information from them.
