I have had very good luck with Mineralyx, especially with heifers. The question of whether or not it "pays for itself" is tough to answer concretely. I do think the Mineralyx formulation is a big part of successful, healthy calving in the spring. There are some trace minerals in there that may be the difference in calving. What cost/benefit you put on that is open to debate I guess unless oyu run a controlled experiment with a group without these elements such as selenium, cobalt, copper, manganese, phosphorus, etc. Take a look at the ingredients sheet here and compare it to other products you may consider: http://www.crystalyx.com/beef/pdfs/Mineral-lyx.pdf This has been working well with WI grass and hay. For wheat stubble you may want ot look at other products here: http://www.crystalyx.com/index.cfm jmho. Jim at Dawn
