Here is my issue with doing what you are suggesting.......

you cannot use Canopy/Basis and still do a cover crop. 

So, what is your practice regarding cover crops?  Do you use them?  Do you see value in using them?

Glyphosate + 2,4-D ..... and you can still plant a cover crop behind it. 

Basis or Canopy .......  you're outa luck.

P.S.  How much rolling ground do you have?  How erodable is your soils?  What does your Conservation Plan require you to do?    Just a couple of questions to think about.
