Kittitas Co. Wa. State
Talked to the grain dealer yesterday. He is baffled at the low price. The fundamentals should be indicating a much better price. Yes there were alot more acres planted/harvested in 08.. BUT,, there are large area's that did not get the production everyone thought they would. Australia is downgrading their harvest estimates, and will be dropping their estimates even more. The dealer I talked to draws grain from a 3-4 state area, so I've a tendency to believe him when he say's there's not as many bushels out there as many people think.

Anybody can plant wheat,, the only thing that really counts is the bushels in the bins after harvest......

And yah,, I just checked the daily price,,,, $4.28/bushel.

Once the national Dog and pony show is over, and everyone quits "running around like a chicken w/it's head cut off" prices will improve.
