Subject: Re: 36" corn pops - how high?

I'm still in 38" rows here. I plant 25,500. If I double up (50,000+) I might as well not even plant it. My pops put spacing simular to guys at 32,000 in 30's. A couple of years back I did some spotting in and had various pops when harvesting. Fertilizer guy hand harvested some 1,000 th acre strips by hand and we laid them out side by side and did kernal counts by the ear. It was an interesting exersize. At that time we figured if I went too much higher I would go backwards. As hybrids change the whole thing will probably change, again. Maybe I'm not aggressive enough.
