As much as I agree with your on-farm storage attitude, to be fair there are costs. Insurance, electric, the time for double handling, continuously monitoring them over the winter, etc.

Another plus is the flexibility of marketing. As we've increased our end users, ie ethanol plants, large livestock growers, etc., having the grain in your hands with the capability to deliver is worth something.
