Brinkley, Arkansas | We were fairly dry until last Wednesday and now we're muddy. My disk was making good time working in straw until then.
I'm not sure how we'll shake out on the rice market. The yield is off here as well but there were more acres planted than many had planned on initially. Every time the rice market made a jump this spring people (myself included) were bringing in more acres. I've got 3/4 of my crop booked anywhere from 7.00 to 8.20 picked up at my bins but I'm not sure what I'll do with the overage. We moved into our last field late this afternoon and it may still be too green. Its the first field I've ever planted in June but we had to wait on dirt pans to finish up. | |
