Subject: RE: Rice Production Question

Mississippi Delta
Well I think they were way off personally. Everyone around me, self included says that their rice is off by at LEAST 15 bushels maybe more. I just got into the last fields of my rice today, CL 171 and it is awful. Looks as though you could walk across it, and has all summer, but just isn't coming in the tank. Maybe it will get better, but I don't think so. Needless to say, won't have any next year! I myself booked about 100 bushels/acre this spring at the best price I have, or my father, or my grandfather ever sold rice for. So I am hoping i have another 50 or so bushels left to sell (may not have that much the way this stuff is yielding) A lot of neighbors sold rice last fall and throughout the winter for 5 or 6 bucks because they thought that would be a great price this fall.
