midwest | Shrink is another 1.5% per point plus the .07 cents drying. I feel that we do not lose the whole 1.5 at home but maybe at least 1%. So if you figure .5% on 200,000 bushels that is 1,000 bu. X $5 = $5,000 per point, and I figure about .03 cents bu. (AVGERAGE) not including dryer charge and bins. At .03 cents X 200,000 bu = $6,000 per point. So for 5 points = $55,000, goes along way towards a dryer payment! Then you have to figure you can take the carry in the market from harvest to July by storing at home usually .40 cents x 200,000 = $80,000, goes along way towards a bin payment! Oh, and don't forget, No lines at home!!! | |
