West Ky | One reason we haven't gone to 20's or 30's is cost. Have to have a new planter and and more units on corn head. When you have massive droughts year in and year out it effects yields and profits. We are on 15's and 30's on our crops so going to 20's would mess things up a bit. Twin rows would work for us if we could get some rain here.
So far our Silver our yields were around 50-100 bu/a below on corn and 30 bu below on beans. Those type of yeilds effect your bottom line. I feel fortunate because I've been hearing of quite of few guys in West Tn around the Dresden area averaging 40bu/a. Been hearing on the radio too advertising farm actions been bad around here for the past few years. | |
