agboy - 10/12/2008 03:50 Please tell me what the diff is if the plant is 6 inches apart in a single row or 7 inches apart in twin rows?? If you have two plants side by side at 7 inches how is that any worse than if they are 7 inches apart front to back??
with twin rows its not supposed to be side by side, that is what kills yields since the plants are competing for water and nutrients in the same area. Your question is like asking how can even spacing yield more than uneven spacing. The more the distance the bigger the ear and stalk. Ever wonder why a double or triple plant is terrible? Good for yields
