"Dusty" - I would suggest that if you are looking for something transferable back to the UK that you go to an area with similar growing conditions and crops, or as close as you can get. That is north, maybe into southern Canada. Maybe talk to the folks at Guelph or email Prof Tony Vyn at Purdue University. He is from Canada and can steer you better than we corn/bean or great plains guys. Last I knew there is ZERO corn for grain grown in Norfolk or the rest of the UK for that matter. Very little even for silage, but again that may be old observations. Not enough heat units for US style agriculture. That starts about the southern third of France for the most part except for some small areas in the Netherlands near the coast. jmho. Good luck.
