Driftless SW Wisconsin

Bred cows, depending on the sire, can be very valuable this time of year. What is the weight and age of the fat cattle? steers or heifers?

The fat cattle have a limited "shelf life". A big part of the decision is what would you do with the fat cattle and when. Sell them as is now, process them now, feed them a bit more, or ????

They may go downhill over winter from their current condition depending on what feed you have available and their exact age and current condition. How bad do you want to get rid of the bred cows?

Lots of ways to look at the transaction. I'd make sure I looked at the "fat cattle" condition before making a final decision. Good luck.
