NC Nebraska
I would say losses are around 200 lbs with the swather. Honestly sometimes more. However it speeds up harvest tremendously. Can usually run around 4.5 mph. No more issues with weeds (especially grass with the rodder) and fighting hard ground where the knives wont stay in. The taller the plant the better. Viney crops tend to have pods lower to the ground. We had about 600 acres of kidneys windrowed when a 12 day cool, damp, rainy spell came this year. Very minimal damage and I know for a fact it would have been worse being thrown with all that dirt.
