Yes, direct harvest is increasing greatly in this area. Problem is, some years it works great, some not. I run a pickett one-step on my farm and JD STS. We've seen edibles drop as much as $15/hrw in the last two weeks, kind of took the wind out of my sails as I hadn't contracted too many acres. One thing about dry beans is that you can go from looking pretty smart to incredibly stupid in such a short amount of time. There was just too many guys clamoring to market them that the end users didn't need that many right away so prices had to drop to a level that would reduce selling.
