Subject: RE: Flexing navies

Lethbridge, AB
I don't know of anyone cutting and windrowing at the same time here, there are a few that are useing the Pickett as a single pass and when they are green.
We had a field of reds that we cut in to wet of conditions, I went in about 4 days later and made a couple of passes with the Pickett, just to see if it would work.
When we harvested that field last Thursday I had forgotten about the windrows, the guy's told me that evening that the windrows were 2-3 procent higher on moisture and there were more fat beans in the sample.
About 15 years ago everyone would be cutting and then windrow just ahead of the combine ( start at night when there was dew and pick them up in the daytime)
One of the big challanges we have here that we quite often get strong winds in the fall, that are not even forecasted and come out of any direction.
When I am reading all your posts it is interesting that we face a lot of the same weather in the beangrowing areas
