| Looks like some multiple ear/same shank or MESS syndrome, although you usually do not have any of the ears full sized.
From the pictures, looks like a very thin stand and if the pictures were taken recently, very late planted corn.
In my experience yous see MESS with a)specific genetics and b) high pH soil that had a rain saturation event during ear development stage between V8 and V10.
i am not familiar with the hybrid but it may just have a very short husk and with the thin stand some ear flex to push the ear beyond husk limits. Birds and bugs love this. | |
