I believe the book says medium rounds are best, followed by medium flats and I would agree with that. I rarely see a skip on the monitor with med rounds. Occasional skips with med flats. All other sizes tend to have more skips for me. The problem is it is hard to get all rounds, so you generally have to plant flats. It is best to get all your seed within a few pounds of each other, then you only need to match the plate once, then adjust air pressure as you change seed. You can get flats to plant almost as well as rounds with the right plate and air pressure. Rounds just seem to be more forgiving in pressure settings. If you don't have an owners manual, I would suggest you get one as it has a chart to help you.
