Dave, maybe you've had different experiences with the Chinese bearings than I have, but I'm not convinced that the problem isn't in the crummy grease they use. I've related this story on here before but here goes:

I was going through one of the Masseys a few years ago and I found an idler sealed bearing that was trying to sieze. I replaced it but before I threw the old (Chinese) one away, I decided to pop out the seals and have a look at it. The grease in there had dried out and was stiff as tar. I washed it out with solvent and spun it, it didn't feel half bad so I packed it with good lithium grease and popped the seals back in. I later installed it in another combine where it's still running. At the time I found it, it couldn't have been more than 3 seasons old. I believe it's run 4 seasons since the addition of the better grease.
