Fenceman, I'll report back with some photos as the experiment progresses. There seems to be a regional divide here. Folks in the Great Plains cattle country (Montana to Texas) think this grazing corn stalks is about the silliest cattle idea they've ever heard. Meanwhile more eastern folks like you in MO, others in WI, OH, MI etc come back and say as you have that they've done it in the past at times when necessary, leaves the cattle in good condition and as long as you are careful it can work. We'll see. I am interested in this mostly because of specific conditions this year and really want to see how the economics compare to other alternatives with good but 30%++ moisture WI corn in Oct.
