Actually after doing this several years its amazing how well it works! I'll be interested in Jim's success after he's done it for a period of time. My cows wasted very little ear corn, key is they only had 1/10 acre/day in 3 corn rows approx 600' long, they get very smart by day 3 what to eat first and hurry because others will eat it if they don't. I bet within 15 minutes after moving to new graze lot you couldn't find 5% of ears anywhere, yes there are a few on ground but very minimal and I had no volunteer following year going into beans. To me the hardest part is demanding the cows cleaned it up before you gave them any new. I run a ET program and I had cows in better body score when coming in for ET implants by far than I would on green grass in the fall. Neighbors think you are nuts, other than that its a program if you are willing to use some labor can reap good rewards efficiently in my opinion. Hope Jim reports back when he has a good idea how his went.
